Test data acquisition is performed directly by the technician with his own instrumentation. Sending the data for further processing is done electronically.
In carrying out the tests, it is recommended to operate in such a way as to eliminate any sources of noise that may corrupt the measured signal, through the use of appropriately shielded cables fixed to the structure and trying to avoid possible interference from electromagnetic fields.
What do you get with data processing? The definition of natural frequencies, damping ratios, and modal shapes. How. The measured dynamic response of the structure is processed, downstream of a prior validation and preprocessing process of the data, using established methods recognized by the international scientific community.
Processing is done through proprietary software packages in which the main analysis procedures are implemented, including Basic Frequency Domain, Frequency Domain Decomposition and Least Squares Complex Frequency in the frequency domain, stochastic subspace techniques (both Covariance Driven and Data Driven types) and Second Order Blind Identification in the time domain.
The application of several alternative output-only modal analysis methodologies is one of the key elements for the success of the identification process, along with high quality measurements and appropriate data pretreatment.
The data to be provided are as follows:
- Registration data files in one of the following formats: .csv, .asc, .txt, .lvm, .tdms, .xls (the possibility of processing files with different extensions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis);
- Graphs in .dwg format of the structure under investigation ;
- Test layouts (in .dwg or .pdf format);
- Indication of reference channels in the case of multi-layout testing;
- A photo of the structure under investigation (optional);
The results obtained from 'processing are as follows:
- Table of frequencies, dampings and modal forms;
- Graph of singular values or, alternatively, stabilization diagram
- Qualitative graphical representation based on simplifying assumptions of the identified modal shapes, consistent with the limitations of the adopted test layout;
- Complexity Plots;
- Matrix of AutoMACs.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES not included in the individual processing and subscription can also be added:
- Consulting during the design phase of the individual test;
- Rental of equipment needed for data acquisition;
- Acquisition of data in the field;
- Fabrication of cables for IEPE sensors;
- Integration of accelerometer signals for characterization of vibration levels;
- Provision of dynamic measurement systems for OMA tests and other dynamic applications;
- Structural consulting for validation of numerical models of structures;
- Correlation with numerical models provided.
